Most Egyptian women have the hair removed from their legs, arms, underarms, and pubic areas. Egyptian men (at least mine does) like women to be "clean"..meaning hairless.
FGM is a common practice in Egypt. I wasn't aware how common until my husband brought it up. The FGM that he described did not involve a clitorectomy but rather a removal of part of the labia minora. I'm not sure if this is the most common form of FGM performed in Egypt.
