Greeted by fanfare, some 17 million Egyptian students will funnel today into the entrance gate of schools and universities across the nation to meet their classmates and jump into the new routine.
The new school year will last for 35 weeks, Education Minister Yousri el-Gamal has said, adding that the Ministry has been working during the summer to breathe new life into the school's classes, playgrounds and laboratories.Teachers will start with their duties, which deal with discipline and curriculum issues, as well as solving problems of their students, the Minister said.
