This is very different to the disrespectful attitude sometimes found when interacting in a more general way. In Egypt, I am careful to dress conservatively, behave modestly and respect the different culture. Mostly, this is reciprocated, but too often, unwanted approaches are made when innocently shopping or carrying out mundane tasks. Dealing with this is easy, as Im used to it, yet such disrespect irritates me. Of course, western men make unwelcome approaches too, but rarely when buying things while out shopping, for example. Women customers are treated better, in the west. This is just a teeny example to illustrate the difference. outside of marriage, we have people who have no sex at all... people who have sex but not all the way & people who have sex all the way regularly & possibly get pregnant... we also have people who have threesomes & orgries or engage in group sex parties... & we have prosititites too!... we have everything in this country of Egypt.... SO U CAN NEVER EVER EVER EVER GENERALIZE...EVER
Talking about my PARENTS, yes it was normal 30 years ago in EGYPT for couples to have BF/GF and not be ashamed of it or hide it like many couples nowadays... My partents were both AUCians.. & at that time Kissing in public (on AUC camous) was normal as well as wearing micro & mini skirts & hot shorts.. I swear my mom used to wear them ... My point is simple, dating in Egypt is not an acceptable behavior and that is the standard. What you described is the exception. I was not generalizing at all and you made my point for me by talking about AUC. AUC is not Egypt.
Well, I grew up in Egypt and as it happens not unlike Egyptian-Batman I grew up in Agouza and I can tell you many women dated but again it was not in any way acceptable and was not considered normal. That did not change much if at all.
Egyptian-Batman may have been playing dumb (assuming he's real)by stating that he didn't know Egyptian women/men dated but his point is valid that it is not common and his surprise to women's openness on the forum is understandable.
You on the other hand are giving the false impression that dating in Egypt is as common as it is anywhere in the world.

Kinda have to know someone who was one of hundreds of techies to programed these satellites when they launched them from the US naval base in Japan 30 years ago!
yeah its classified knowledge, but alot of those satellite transmissions have to pass through government clearance, and most governments have to clear through the US, UK or IDF. There is a heirarchy of power and there is no requirement of transparency of ownership. So legally any media house, or government can talk through their arses because they are not allowed to divulge anyhow!

This is what I love about Egyptians. The truth is a conspiracy but any false story about the Egyptians replicating technological feats of the Europeans is true.
I can't prove it, its hearsay from a techie professional who spent 15 years working on satellite and satellite communications at the US naval base in Japan. Where 70% of the world's satellites were launched and even today 90% of the maintanence and transmission routing is done today.
Ever wonder why the Japanese are so technologically advanced? Because many engineering consulting firms are in Japan as joint DOD and private Japanese ventures. The entire technology industry sucks off technology that can't or won't be implemented by the DOD into private consumer services and products in Japan.
Now did you have any technology instructors who worked for the DOD on satellite communications? An instructor who designed programming code for the military for 25 years?

Either you havn't seen this type of Opera "skin" before or you have hacked my PC to figure out what type of Opera browser I am using!
Please don't put any funky virus sh*t on this PC, I am having system failure error Microsoft popup messags and I know within the week I'll have to do an entire system back up and reformat.
