Mena: The extreme concentration of wealth in the hand of a tiny minority like 1% of the rich owning 40 to 50% of the wealth is not good for a democratic country (even a monarchy and dictatorship) because it doesnt matter if the people elect the politicians the 1% rich who has financed the politicians elections are the one controlling the politicians, policies and laws. Even if the 1% doesnt finance the politicians elections by controlling the economy, banking and job creations they also control the politicians who depends on them to have a successful government or term in office.
A Democracy with 1% of the rich owning 40% to 50% of the wealth is a de facto plutocracy and oligarchy.
Russia has never been truly communist.
In the USA, the rich Kosher Nostra elite have too much of the wealth. Global Inequality.

Moderately socialist Europe is better than the non-socialist USA. Global Inequality.
"Entrance to wealthy gated communities is blocked, not only by private security forces, but also by the increasingly prohibitive costs of healthcare, technology and education.
"There is the dominant force of mass incarceration, with millions of poor, minorities and powerless walled off from the rulers they might threaten.

An interesting question is how did countries like Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, etc. deal with the issue of inequality?
Furthermore, the GINI coefficients of such countries is some 0.25. The most unequal countries in the world are South Africa--where the settler whites and very corrupt ANC people--control most of South Africa's wealth, Brazil--where the blacks are the worse off in economic wealth, Namibia--where settler Germans still control Namibia's wealth and land resources, Nigeria--where very greedy and corrupt politicians have stolen that country blind, India--dominated by a quasi-racist caste system and corruption.
In all those countries, the GINI coefficient is greater than 0.70. The same for most of Africa--of which the glaringly worst case is Equatorial Guinea--run by a family of wicked thieves and blatant crooks--but great friends of the U.S. and France.
