I realize intellectually that the skin color of a civilization's population should not matter, but honestly, I really like it that the ancient Egyptians were black people. One reason is that it enhances their exotic appeal even more. Another is that I like the idea that black people built one of the most sophisticated nations in ancient times, a nation which along with the Mesopotamians laid the foundations for modern civilization.
Is this a racist feeling?

Well since in america race is an integral part of the daily thoughts, then i would say NO, it's perfectly normal in your case.

In terms of pigmentation, the Egyptians would have been intermediate between White Americans and Black Americans.

In terms of pigmentation, milk chocolate seems to have been the mode.
In terms of pigmentation, they some time altered between dark and mil chocolate in their depictions.
It terms of pigmentation i see them in a lighter caramel (golden brown) color (especially women), but often you can either see streaks and patches of the chocolate pain, if not an older non faded version.
When it's not the whether, some times depictions are "cleaned" because they were already old/blotchy.
I'll post a few examples of this later on. If it's @ the TNV site i'll try to remember to link here.

^ Dude, there's no point trying to decide what exact colour a person is, it's an oxymoron. Ancient Egytptians were Blacks which really means they were able to tan *noticeably* (i.e like Africans and Black-Asians tan).
Damn near everybody changes colour based on their environment - and I'm not talking about long-term here I'm talking about a matter of days, especially in the case of so-called "mixed race" folks.
My wife went from a creamy off-white colour to being as Black as the Black-Indians out in Mauritius in a matter of just 2 days laying out in the Sun. Imagine what her colour would be if she lived there??
As far as me, I'm a "milk chocolate" colour at my lightest (i.e when I've been in the UK too long & when I was a child in Nigeria) like the guy on the far right of the pic, and at my darkest I'm literally the colour Black itself (i.e. dark as night) like the 2nd guy from the left.
My wife at her darkest hue, will probably be as dark as I am at my lightest hue.

I disagree. I don't know of any place on earth, which has more than one culture, where "race" isn't an integral part of daily thoughts at some point.

You are right that his "racial types" chart is bogus. Sure there were Nubians, Asiatics etc that Egyptians differentiated themselves from. But as your images above show, dark skin is routine in ancient Egypt.
