DEAR FRIEND’S,

We are kept company on Egyptsearch.com by a person who, through no fault of his, is born deaf, severely speech impaired and Black. But he was made a horribly homophobic, closeted gay as well. Most people know that a young special needs person will rage at the whole world because of his flaws, until he finds a way to reconcile this. And be grateful for what he has. Life is hard whether you are handicapped or not, but how to explain this to him. He is set out to proof that he is superior to normal people, and that’s why he is such a pest on many forums, using this dreaded, fake Egyptian name. But he is also resorting to temporary nicks to badger and insult.

To him the people who practice alternative love are the lowest of the lowest! But by doing so, the entire world can see that his loud homophobia stems only from a desperate need for love, affection and recognition for his merits. He is actually shouting his desperation from all the rooftops. But he hates people who are getting their sugar, who are flaunting their identity and their happiness in life.

Well I have heard you, alright. James Baldwin wrote ‘Love is where you find it.’ But apparently this was not thought to him by the Nazi run Amsterdam school for the deaf. What a terrible situation, being Black and Gay, desperate for love, but taught to hate Gay’s (as well as Blacks in general). I know young, true heterosexual men are out there romancing their Lady (ies) or chatting up new beauties. Thinking about what they will do in love’s combat. What a red-blooded heterosexual is not doing, is sitting around the whole day imagining what guys do with each other, getting it on behind closed door.

That’s none of no one’s goddamn business. At least that is the Surinam view of things, as we have always valued our private space. But here in Europe we came to learn that the government will decide who you should love or how you should love. Dividing people up on the ways they love!

All I can say is: inform yourself, your predicament is no mystery for us, who are a little older. Just go for it! Don’t waste anymore time raging, as it will solve nothing. But only drive away those people around you, who could make you feel better about yourself.

Deafness - a range of causes

The ear is our organ of hearing. At around 20 years of age, our hearing starts a gradual decline. Higher frequencies are usually the first to go. This age-related hearing loss is normal and doesn’t lead to total loss of hearing. Deafness can range from mild to profound and is caused by many different events including injury, disease and genetic defects. There are various ways to categorise deafness. The two main types of deafness are conductive deafness and nerve deafness. Deafness at birth is known as congenital deafness, while deafness that occurs after birth is called adventitious deafness. The most common cause of adventitious deafness is noise, which accounts for over one quarter of people affected by hearing loss.

Ear anatomy
The ear is made up of three different parts, including:

Outer ear - includes the part you can see. Its shape helps to collect sound waves. A tube leads inward to the eardrum.
Middle ear - separated from the outer ear by the eardrum. The middle ear contains three tiny bones called the malleus (hammer bone), the incus (anvil bone) and the stapes (stirrup bone). These bones amplify the movement of the eardrum produced by sound waves. The Eustachian tube attaches the middle ear to the back of the throat and helps to equalise air pressure.
Inner ear - sound waves are picked up by a little spiral-shaped organ called the cochlear. Hairs on the cochlear sense the vibration and pass the message - interpreted into electrical impulses - on to the brain via the cochlear nerve.
Conductive deafness
Conductive deafness is caused by the failure of the three tiny bones inside the middle ear to pass along sound waves to the inner ear. Another common cause of conductive deafness is the failure of the eardrum to vibrate in response to sound waves. A build-up of fluid in the ear canal, for example, could dampen the movement of the eardrum. In many cases, treatment is available for conductive deafness and normal hearing will return.

Nerve deafness
Nerve deafness is caused by disease, trauma or some other disruptive event targeting the cochlear nerve. The rest of the ear - including the tiny bones and eardrum - may be working, but the electrical impulses aren’t able to reach the brain. In other cases, the problem is in the brain itself, which can’t ‘translate’ the messages from the cochlear nerve. Most cases of nerve deafness don’t respond to treatment.

Causes of temporary deafness
Some of the causes of temporary deafness include:
Wax - the ear canal secretes cerumen, a waxy substance that helps to protect and lubricate the tissues. A build-up of wax can block the ear canal, leading to short term conductive deafness.
Foreign object - similarly to ear wax, a foreign object stuck inside the ear canal (such as the tip of a cotton bud) can temporarily cause hearing loss.
Excess mucus - the common cold, a bout of flu, hay fever or other allergies can cause an excess of mucus that may block the Eustachian tubes of the ear.
Ear infections - including otitis externa (infection of the outer ear) and otitis media (infection of the middle ear). Fluid and pus don’t allow the full conduction of sound.
Drugs - certain drugs, including aminoglycosides and chloroquine, can cause temporary deafness in susceptible people.
Causes of hearing loss
Some of the many causes of deafness include:
Hereditary disorders - some types of deafness are hereditary, which means parents pass on flawed genes to their children. In most cases, hereditary deafness is caused by malformations of the inner ear.
Genetic disorders - genetic mutations may happen: for example, at the moment of conception when the father’s sperm joins with the mother’s egg. Some of the many genetic disorders that can cause deafness include osteogenesis imperfecta, Trisomy 13 S and multiple lentigines syndrome.
Prenatal exposure to disease - a baby will be born deaf or with hearing problems if they are exposed to certain diseases in utero, including rubella (German measles), influenza and mumps. Other factors that are thought to cause congenital deafness include exposure to methyl mercury and drugs such as quinine.
Noise - loud noises (such as gun shots, firecrackers, explosions and rock concerts) can damage the delicate mechanisms inside the ear. If you are standing next to someone, yet have to shout to be heard, you can be sure that the noise is loud enough to be damaging your ears.
Trauma - such as perforation of the eardrum, fractured skull or changes in air pressure (barotrauma).
Disease - certain diseases can cause deafness including meningitis, mumps, cytomegalovirus and chicken pox. A severe case of jaundice is also known to cause deafness.
Other causes - other causes of deafness include Meniere’s disease and exposure to certain chemicals.
Age-related hearing loss
Our hearing gradually becomes less acute as we age. This is normal, and rarely leads to deafness. Age-related hearing loss (presbycusis) typically begins with the loss of higher frequencies, so that certain speech sounds - such as ‘s’, ‘f’ and ‘t’ - end up sounding very similar. This means the older person can hear, but not always understand. For example, the words ‘see’ and ‘tea’ might sound the same.

Tinnitus is often associated with deafness
Tinnitus means a sensation of ringing in the ears. Some of the causes of tinnitus include middle ear infections and damage to the ear from loud noises. Tinnitus may occur on its own, or in conjunction with hearing loss.

Homophobia Conquered!

"In Freeman’s account, Thompson comes across as a troubled but articulate soul. He speaks of depression and sleeplessness as he wrestles with being a closeted gay man in a homophobic atmosphere. The quote about feeling “gutless” refers to an incident in a San Francisco restaurant where Thompson sat silently as teammates, including a backup quarterback, made increasingly loud and offensive anti-gay comments. ^ Stuart, you're a sicko. No one's really homophobic on this forum. The "anti-homosexual statements" you might have seen were those directed to the apres-skeezos and those [cerebral cortex-deficient] monkeys deserve everything coming to them...

The next thing you're going to be telling us the (joke?) of the girl you raped who then offered you her phone number when the ordeal was over.

If you had any respect for this forum, you wouldn't make half the posts you make.

Claudia Gordon, the first Black deaf female attorney in the U.S., has been an advocate for people with disabilities since high school. It was her desire to address societal barriers faced by people with disabilities that motivated her to pursue a legal education and career. Since graduating from law school and being admitted to the Maryland Bar, Claudia has conducted numerous empowerment and legal education outreach and training to communities and organizations in both the U.S. and St. Thomas USVI.
"Being hailed as the first Black deaf female attorney in the U.S. has evidentially been an inspiration to members of this community, especially the youths, in setting high goals for themselves," she explains.
Claudia worked for two years at the National Association of the Deaf (NAD) Law Center, where on behalf of persons experiencing discrimination on the basis of deafness, she provided legal advocacy through direct legal representation in civil cases, technical assistance, training and outreach.
Claudia has a longstanding association with the National Black Deaf Advocates Association (NBDA), having served since 1989, and is currently its Vice-President. She has also provided advocacy leadership at the National Association of the Deaf Law Center; the Civil Practice Clinic at the Washington College of Law, Washington, DC Public Defender Service-Mental Health Division; the Black Law Students Association; the National Black Deaf Advocates Association; and the Consumer Action Network.
Additionally, Claudia has chaired a number of disability-oriented committees, participated in a number of advisory groups on disability and cultural diversity-related issues, and presented at a wide array of disability conferences and meetings. Her writings on disability policy have appeared in various organizational newsletters.
Currently, she is an independent consultant to the National Council on Disability (NCD)
Claudia has identified two very strong personal goals for the next five years: 1) to continue to advocate for the rights and quality of life of individuals with disabilities, on both a national and grassroots level; and 2) to establish a direct service foundation for the deaf in Washington, DC, in order to provide a variety of services to underserved and unserved segments of the city's deaf community.

Insults help no one. I've learned and reminded myself of this over and over again. Now, I'm reminding anyone besides myself. For now, in particular to you member Djehuti, you should exercise some constraints on your insults to other members. Instead of tantrums, present as many solid and truthful facts for your arguments as you possibly can. Anything less would be intellectually derailed forcing you to return to a cycle of tantrums and insults again. There are so many wonderful things to learn from EgyptSearch and that’s why I like it a lot. So let’s act grown and keep it moving.

psychosis in deaf vs. hearing individuals

quote:
Description of the Project:
The manifestation of psychosis in deaf vs. hearing individuals is known to differ (Evans & Elliott, 1981). Since psychosis often manifests in hearing people through disruption of sensory and linguistic functioning, it follows that the vastly different sensory and language experiences and characteristics of deaf vs. hearing people will lead to complications and differences in the detection and measurement of psychotic symptomatology between these two populations. Additionally complicating this issue is the valid presumption that virtually all healthy hearing people are conversant or better in their preferred language and, therefore, that disruptions of language fluency are ipso facto evidence of neurological or psychiatric impairment. The same presumption is not valid for the deaf population, since language dysfluency frequently results from insufficient exposure to accessible language (oral or sign). Accordingly, there is a significant proportion of the deaf population that manifests language dysfluency but may have no underlying neurologic or psychiatric pathology.

How then is language dysfluency in deaf individuals that is caused by neurologic or psychiatric illness to be differentiated from language dysfluency that has social/experiential origins? The answer is (1) it's extremely difficult and (2) to the degree that it is possible, one must be fluent in sign language, extremely familiar with the ways in which neuropathology and psychosis manifest in deaf sign language users as well as in the hearing population, and third, extremely familiar with the LLP ("minimally language skilled") deaf population that does not appear to have mental illness, and their linguistic characteristics specifically.

Title: Offenders in a Silent World - Hearing Impairment and Deafness in Relation to Criminality, Incompetence, and Insanity

Journal: Bulletin of the American Academy of Psychiatry Law Volume:13 Issue:1 Dated:(1985) Pages:85-96

Author(s): B Harry ; P E Dietz
Publication Date: 1985
Pages: 12
Type: Studies/research reports
Origin: United States
Language: English
Annotation: This article reviews the historical legal status of the deaf-mute defendant, presents data on a study of deaf defendants admitted to a maximum security psychiatric facility, and reviews studies on relationships between hearing impairment and adult criminality and delinquency.
Abstract: Historically, the deaf-mute (prelingually deaf) defendant has been viewed much as a mentally disordered defendant, as the deaf-mute was presumed to lack criminal responsibility in early common law. Legal commentators have recently suggested that prelingually deaf offenders may have impaired competency as the subjects of police questioning, since they are incapable of understanding the Miranda warning. A population-based study of prelingually deaf defendants admitted to a maximum security psychiatric facility from 1971 through 1980 examined their prevalence and treatment. Prelingually deaf persons were disproportionately present in the hospital population compared to their number in the general population. This reflects the fact that the leading causes of prelingual deafness are also among the leading causes of neurologic damage and mental retardation. Although no definitive research has yet been done, the available evidence indicates that prelingual deafness per se does not contribute substantially to criminality and delinquency. Any claim of association between deafness and criminality must give account to the possibility that deafness decreases the probability of evading apprehension and to the fact that prelingual deafness is associated with other factors related to criminality, such as impaired brain functioning, education underachievement, social isolation, and unemployment.

For the Life of me, I cannot understand why seemingly sane people would continue having discussions with this Djehuti con artist. I have busted my ass showing you all, that he is using at least seven nicks, but probably a great deal more, to win arguments by deceit, insults and browbeating. He is not an American, but a Surinam living in Amsterdam, where he is known as a plagiarist. The type of language mistakes he makes, show me as a fellow Dutch speaker, that his main language is Dutch not English. As he seems not to be able to juggle more then one abstraction at the time, he cannot synthesise complicated information and ideas. He does not know how this works and as a child he assumes that milk comes from a bottle, not a cow. Djehuti only paraphrases what he steals from others. Further more complicated with the fact that he believes his mutant brain is superior to a normal brain. The cold hatred which one perceives in his posting indicates that he might have been abandoned as a child, suffered ridicule because of his handicap, and he might have been sexually molested as a child, as well. I have noticed a certain degree of childishness in his ways of explaining things as if he is still carrying on in a nursery. This whole psychological decomposition might have started with people not responding to his threats. So he started responding by himself, using different nicks, making himself online compliments and giving himself the highest ratings. We have to assume that as a deaf-mute the internet is the best way for him to communicate with normal people. But as a true con-artist his loathing of normal people speaks from all his postings, while he preys on the good will of us all. He might be bashing you on one forum, while propagating his own concoction based on what he stole from you on another forum. The great irony is that among all you molecular biologist none of you could spot this evil mutant raising hell on this forum.

These are all one and the same person:

As I see it you all had a few years ago agreed not to approach troublesome Egmond Codfried anymore. But Doug M is fighting for control and does not accept Djehuti as the leader. He went and tested Codfried. First he sent in the Clown Crowd. But Egmond did notice that the Clown Crowd only polluted his threads and not those where Djehuti and Doug M were busy.

Doug M was created while Djehuti was ridiculing Egmond Codfried about his research after the Black European Kings on another forum. Doug M suddenly started to talk about Renaissance on this Egyptsearch forum, in his own limited way of understanding the world.

So next, when Codfried entered this site, Dough M created the Euroskeptic entity, which showed smatterings of European and Surinamistiek knowledge, mostly picked up from Codfried, on a Surinam site. Holland born and educated Djehuti does not know Surinam history. But somehow this was not enough, so Doug M himself came and attacked Codfried. This is how Codfried immediately recognised that Doug M is another of Djehuti’s split personalities. He already had his doubts about Euroskeptic.

So it was Doug M who gave the game away and brought on all this turmoil, which we now witness, in the 20 entities on egyptsearch.com. Now you might all end up in the slammer, giving (oral) favors to twenty Turks, Moroccans and White's every night!

So my advice to you guys is to report Doug M to the Amsterdam Authorities and have him committed in one of the Psychiatric Wards which are not closed due to unlawful deaths in isolation cells. He will otherwise be the downfall of all of you. Just put some jogging pants and shorts in a plastic bag and drag his ass to a clinic. Yall have medical insurance, as all Dutch citizens do.

When you bring Doug M in, please tell the doctors about the extensive scar tissue he has around his…well, you know where these bad, bad man at the nazi run institute of the deaf put their big d…. I do not have to spell it out! He might get some corrective surgery, while they stop the short circuit in his mind.

There are reports of howling sounds coming out of your house. So be quick, set your house in order, report Doug M today, before the GESTAPO comes.

Egmond Codfried

Every sincere person on this forum was insulted by a Djehuti, or a JMT or a Doug M: all of them showing the same hatefull Modus Operandi. So we all know you are a very sick boy, and giving us a daily scary expose of what horrific turmoil there is inside of you. And we hate this sickness. We just want you to get well again. If I do not see any improvement I will call the LAW on you, dear.[QUOTE]

[edit] History
The first known usage of the term "confidence man" was in 1849; it was used by the press during the trial of William Thompson. Thompson chatted with strangers until he asked if they had the confidence to lend him their watches, whereupon he would walk off with the watch; he was captured when a victim recognized him on the street.[1]

Vulnerability to confidence tricks
Persons of any level of intelligence are vulnerable to deception by experienced con artists. Confidence tricks exploit human weaknesses like greed, dishonesty, vanity, but also virtues like honesty, compassion, or a naïve expectation of good faith on the part of the con artist.

Just as there is no typical profile for swindlers, neither is there one for their victims. Virtually anyone can fall prey to fraudulent crimes. … Certainly victims of high-yield investment frauds may possess a level of greed which exceeds their caution as well as a willingness to believe what they want to believe. However, not all fraud victims are greedy, risk-taking, self-deceptive individuals looking to make a quick dollar. Nor are all fraud victims naive, uneducated, or elderly.[2]

Confidence tricksters often rely on the greed and dishonesty of the mark, who may attempt to out-cheat the con artist, only to discover that he or she has been manipulated into losing from the very beginning. This is such a general principle in confidence tricks that there is a saying among con men that "you can't cheat an honest man."[3]

Nevertheless, some tricks depend on the honesty of the victim. In a common scam, as part of an apparently legitimate transaction, the victim is sent a worthless check, which the victim then deposits. The victim is then urged to forward the apparent value of the check to the trickster as cash, possibly keeping a small portion of the money as a commission, which they may do before discovering the check bounces. Another fashionable scenario (as of 2006)[citation needed] has the victim recruited as a "financial agent" to collect "business debts". Paper checks are not always involved: funds may be transferred electronically from another victim.

Sometimes con men rely on naive individuals who put their confidence into get-rich-quick schemes, such as "too good to be true" investments. It may take years for the wider community to discover that such investment schemes are bogus. By the time they are discovered, many people may have lost their life savings to something in which they have been persuaded to invest.

The confidence trickster often works with one or more accomplices called shills, who help manipulate the mark into accepting the con man's plan. In a traditional confidence trick, the mark is led to believe that he will be able to win money or some other prize by doing some task. The accomplices may pretend to be random strangers who have benefited from successfully performing the task.

HOW TO SPOT A CON ARTIST

Investing in securities is risky enough without worrying about whether your salesperson is going to fleece you. To be an informed investor, you must know what danger signs to look for. Some are subtle, and some are easier to spot.
Rule 1: Con Artists Like To Blend In
Con artists know that being themselves hurts business. Effective con artists must disguise their true motives. Whether your first contact with the con artist is through an unsolicited telephone call or a stranger ringing your doorbell or sending you an email, the con artist takes great pains to look and sound familiar. Often, con artists like to blend in with others in your group whether that group be political, community (such as the local senior center), religious or other. They quickly get to know a lot of people in the group so they can count on this common bond to spread the word about their questionable investments and reel in unsuspecting investors.
Rule 2: Con Artists Dress For Success
Even though con artists would like you to believe that they are "just plain folk," they are smart enough to realize that this alone will not sway you to part with your money. They work very hard to come across as smooth, professional and successful. Con artists may dress like they are wealthy and work out of impressive looking offices. If your only contact is by mail, the office may bear a prestigious sounding address. Often, this is nothing more than a mail drop. Your best bet is to look behind the surface and do some serious investigating before you part with your money.
Rule 3: Con Artists Often Push Poorly Understood or Little-Known Products
Today, a variety of institutions, from banks to brokerage firms to financial planners, offer a wide range of financial products. With such a confusing mix to choose from, it is no wonder that many people turn to financial advisers for guidance. Con artists know this and stand ready to assume full responsibility for your investment decisions. Don’t let them! When it comes to your money, think things through for yourself after getting all the facts. Never give someone control over your purse strings just because you think you are too old, young or financially inexperienced. If you really need help, only deal with financial advisers, broker-dealers or financial institutions with proven track records.
Rule 4: Con Artists Bring Out The Worst In You
Skilled con artists can bring out your worst traits, particularly greed, fear, and insecurity. Con artists know that promises of huge returns with no risk will get your attention. They hope that it will get your money too. Fear comes into play when the con artist warns you that complaining about a failed investment to the government may result in your spoiling it for others or "rocking the boat." Con artists try to make you feel inadequate if you don’t believe them or ask too many questions. If you find yourself making investment-related decisions based only on your emotions, watch out!
Rule 5: Con Artists Are Fair Weather Friends

Before you invest, con artists are very friendly. They take a personal interest in you out of the blue. They call back when they promised they would. Each time, they tell you even more good things about the investment. You may feel you’re being pressured into investing. You are. Despite his or her kind words, the con artist will do anything in his or her power to make a sale. Too often, however, once you have invested your money, contact with the con artist dwindles and then stops altogether. If you cannot get answers to your questions after handing over your cash, there is a good chance someone else is getting rich off of your investment.
Rule 6: For Every Silver Lining, There Is A Cloud
Every investment involves risk. But to hear the con artist explain it, the investment may be too good to be true. Trust your inner voice if you hear claims like these:
• "I just got a hot tip from an inside source that this stock will go through the roof."
• "Your return is guaranteed. There’s no way you can lose money."
• "Gotta get in on the ground floor now or you’ll be left out in the cold. In fact, we’ll send a messenger over tomorrow to pick up your check." (Con artists often use this device to avoid federal mail fraud charges.)
• "This deal is so great, I invested in it myself."
• "If this doesn’t perform as I just said, we’ll refund your money no questions asked."
• "Everyone else that invested in this did very well."

Be especially careful if the salesperson downplays any downside or denies that risk exists. Con artists usually are not very good at answering important questions. Watch out if the salesperson is reluctant to provide information on the following:
• The background, educational history and work experience of the deal's promoters, principals or general partners;
• Information on whether your investment monies will be segregated from other funds available to the business;
• Written information on the business' financial condition, such as a balance sheet and bank references;
• The prior track record of the business and its principals;
• The salesperson’s name, where he or she is calling from, who he or she works for, his or her background and what commission or other compensation he or she will receive;
• The salesperson’s connection with the venture and any affiliates
In addition, be wary if the salesperson doesn’t ask you questions about your past investment experience and your ability to withstand risk. Even if the salesperson does ask a few related questions, take heed if you get the sense that he or she is merely going through the motions.
Rule 7: Don't be afraid to "sleep on it."
If you are promised high, guaranteed profits and given no written explanation concerning the investment vehicle, the promoter’s background or the risks involved, walk away. Never invest in anything based on the enthusiasm or charisma of the salesperson -- they may have more to gain by taking your money than you know.

He can't wait to get his hands on your money. See more money scam pictures.

Con artists make money through deception. They lie, cheat and fool people into thinking they've happened onto a great deal or some easy money, when they're the ones who'll be making money. If that doesn't work, they'll take advantage of our weaknesses -- loneliness, insecurity, poor health or simple ignorance. The only thing more important to a con artist than perfecting a con is perfecting a total lack of conscience.

What does the average con artist look like? Despite what you may think, he isn't always a shady-looking character. A con artist is an expert at looking however he needs to look. If the con involves banking or investments, the con artist will wear a snappy suit. If it involves home improvement scams, he'll show up wearing well-worn work clothes. Even the basic assumption that the con is a "he" is incorrect: there are plenty of con women too.

You might think you can spot a con artist because he's someone you instinctively "don't trust." But the term con artist is short for confidence artist -- they gain your confidence just long enough to get their hands on your money. They can be very charming and persuasive. A good con artist can even make you believe he is really an old friend you haven't seen in years.

Con artists do share certain characteristics, however. Even the best con can only go on for so long before people start getting suspicious. For that reason, con artists tend to move frequently. They may have a job that allows this, or they might claim to have such a job. Railroad worker, carnival worker and traveling salesman are all parts con artists play to cover up their constant relocations.

A Con's a Con
Different terms for con artists include: flim flam man, sham artist, shyster or sheister, bunco man (after the name of a popular "fixed" card game that has since become synonymous with scams), bamboozler, swindler, grifter and hustler.

It would be impossible to catalogue every con, because con artists are inventive. While many cons are simply variations on ones that are hundreds of years old, new technologies and laws give con artists the opportunity to create original scams. Many cons tend to fall into a few general categories, however: street cons, business cons, Internet cons, loan cons and home improvement cons.

Watch for signs.Con artists often give themselves away if you ask enough questions. Ask for some kind of written documentation of their offer. Check for a real address, not a P.O. Box. Ask to see a driver's license, and write down the information on it. Write down license plate numbers, and make sure the con artist sees you doing it. If it's a legitimate offer, he won't mind. Tell him you need to think the deal over for at least a few days before making a decision. A con artist will often pressure you to make a decision on the spot -- often using hard sell tactics, such as saying that the deal won't last. They may get nervous when you ask for something in writing, and will usually refuse to provide it. When someone wants your money, if the offer is legitimate, it will still be around next week.

If You've Been Conned

The most street-wise person can get taken in by a con. If you've been victimized, what should you do?
Con artists count on their victims feeling foolish and afraid to report the scam. But if you remain silent about being conned, you're letting the con artist move on to steal from others. Write down every detail you can remember as soon as possible, while it's fresh in your memory. Collect any documented evidence you might have as well. This includes receipts, contracts or even your own phone records.
Now it's time to contact the authorities. You may have to do some legwork to find the right agency, or someone who is willing to help you. Your local police department may have a special division assigned to fraud cases. Also contact your local district attorney. Get in touch with the Better Business Bureau and see if there are any other reports of the same con artist -- this could help you and the police track him down. Many scams also fall under the jurisdiction of certain federal agencies, like the Federal Trade Commission and the Securities and Exchange Commission. If you really reach a dead end, try your local TV news stations. Many have segments where a reporter tracks down a con artist and demands answers, and con artists hate the spotlight.

Con artists charm their way into a woman's heart, lie to her, and too often, take her for all she's worth. Candace Delong, former FBI Profiler and author, shares tips to keep you away from a con man.

Signs You're Involved with a Con Artist:

Pressure to get married.
Marriage is far too important in life to be rushed. Be wary of a wedding or proposal out of the blue. If a man makes you believe your marrying him is a matter of life or death — he's up to something.
Vague answers to questions about his past.
Always ask questions about your mate's background or past. If he refuses to answer these questions, be suspicious. If he does answer the questions, and you wonder if he is telling you the truth, look up the information he gives you on the Internet.
Questionable financial worth.
If a man brags about how much he is worth or claims to be broke because he is paying child support, that can be checked out also. Have him show you income tax records for several years before you merge finances. Always get proof if you aren't sure. Also, be aware if he is always asking to borrow money.
Lies about his age.
A man lying about his age is cause for concern. He may try to change the date because the real date of his birth is on a warrant for his arrest somewhere. If he claims that there was a mistake on his birth certificate, or his job made a mistake, he is lying. It's illegal to change your birth date.
Multiple social security numbers.
Having more than one social security number is illegal. If a man has more than one, he is using it to scam money or avoid the criminal justice system. If he claims to be a victim of identity theft, have him show you documentation.

What You Have and Do That Makes You Vulnerable to a Con:

You have something worth getting.
These types of men are looking for a woman with something they can take. You don't have to be wealthy or be an heiress to a huge fortune. If you have a job and a little bit of room on your credit card, this may attract him.
Gullibility.
You have a willingness to believe anything the con artist is telling you. You may think you're a good judge of character, but these guys are really slick. They start learning how to lie at age 3.
Believing the grand gesture.
Willingness to interpret questionable behavior as love. For example, a man goes to a woman's house when she is not there, gets her stuff and puts it in his place. This is not the loving gesture it might appear to be. For one thing, it's theft. Secondly, it is meant to control her and get her in his world as soon as possible. Also, be wary if he proposes quickly in the relationship.
Testing boundaries with money.
Usually, this occurs early in the relationship. For example, he may ask you out to dinner and when the check comes say, "Oh, honey, I left my wallet in the car." Your response should be, "Oh, honey, I left mine at home."

Geachte mijnheer/mevrouw,

Zo heb ik recentelijk het boek The Other Side of the Story: The Golden Ages of Africa uitgebracht, welke erg goed ontvangen is door experts in Engeland.

The con-artist Djehuti has posted a thread about the five Black US presidents. He is 'of course' not the con-artist Djehuti from Atlanta, we have here, on this site. It's just that the name Djehuti has a certain appeal to con-artists!

This waterkant.net site is the home for the Surinam-Dutch Housenigger.

In Holland there is no speak of afrocentrism and the Surinamese are utterly ignorant about these matters, which are kept away from them.
