Don't really have much interest in Ridley Scott's work, especially after his "Exodus: Gods and Kings" movie. I have heard good things about the first Gladiator though.

My main problem is that Gladiator was a movie that never really needed a sequel, which is why my (and other fans of gladiator's) expectations will be extremely negative towards this. The actor for Caracalla was horrible miscast, considering the detailed busts we have of him, and the fact that they gave him blond hair, when we know from his family portrait that he was black haired.

Ah, and it will be entertaining seeing most of the criticism being directed towards a free black man being in Rome, as is typical whenever a black man appears in western media (outside of the slave/colonial narrative).
