Crispus Allen aka the Spectre
@bigmoneyb: He is omnipotent. His imagination is the only limit to the extent of his powers. As the Spectre is an aspect of God (he represents the Divine Wrath), he had no limits to his power, save following some rules. Nothing more. You name it, he can do it. Use the search option, in "Spectre". His powers are numerous: outlining them all would be impossible and extremely time consuming.

Nubia is a fictional character, a comic book superheroine published by DC Comics. The original Nubia was created by Robert Kanigher and Don Heck, she debuted in Wonder Woman (vol. 1) #204, (January 1973). The modern character named Nu'Bia was created by Doselle Young and Brian Denham, she debuted in Wonder Woman Annual (vol. 2) #8 (1999).
Nubia Formed from clay as a twin to Diana (Wonder Woman), the dark skinned Nubia was kidnapped by Mars, who raised her, controlling her mind so that she would help him bring down the Amazons.
Nu'Bia Sometime after Crisis a new version of Nubia, now called Nu'Bia, was introduced. When Nu'Bia first meets Diana, she mistakenly calls Diana by the name of her former queen " Antiope". Nu'Bia is only slightly surprised to discover that Diana is Antiope's niece. The woman identifies herself to Diana as Nu'Bia and says that she was a Themyscirian Amazon who won the "Tournament of Grace and Wonder" just as Diana previously had, and become the Amazons' first champion.
Other versions Earth-23 Renee Montoya ventures forth with Earth-5's Captain Marvel in an attempt to recruit each universe's equivalent of Superman to join Nix Uotan's Army of Heaven on Earth-Zero (the primary DC Earth). The beginning of the issue illustrates their visit to a universe where a black Superman is apparently the President of the United States. This Superman confers with a black Wonder Woman, whom he refers to as Nubia. This Nubia is apparently one of the "Wonder Women of Amazonia", and she uses a relic called the Wonder Horn to summon Renee and the others into her world.
This version of Nubia later reappears as a member of her Earth's Justice League, with her Earth officially revealed as Earth-23 in the new Multiverse.

You did a great job summarizing them. Others that also deserve mention:
Vixen (Mari Jiwe McCabe), Black panther (T'Challa), Blade, Green Lantern (John Stewart), Storm (Ororo Munroe), and Bishop of X-Men but from what I remember he has Australian aboriginal ancestry. Not African, but black nonetheless.
Do video games count? Notable examples are Barret Wallace from Final Fantasy VII, Balrog from Street Fighter, Combo from Killer Instinct and Jax from Mortal Kombat.

I always thought the Green Lantern was supposed to be black since I first encountered him in the Justice League cartoon. When I first saw white Green Lanterns, I didn't recognize them as the same character!
BTW I think it would be really cool if someone drew Shanna the She-Devil (the dinosaur-hunting jungle chick from Marvel) as black.

According to DC continuity, the Green Lantern Corps has been in existence for three billion years, surviving multiple conflicts both internal and foreign. Currently operating divided as pairs amongst the 3600 “sectors” of the universe, over 7200 members (known commonly as Green Lanterns) are estimated to be serving within the Corps. First, it's pretty well established that Superman has a healthy respect for Green Lantern power.
- Second, at least some Green Lanterns (Hal Jordan and John Stewart, specifically) are capable of stopping Superman in his tracks if they have to.
1. Those power rings pack a heck of a punch. (Superman-Batman #29)
John stewart- “Green Lantern power rings are the most powerful weapons in the universe,” or, “Green Lanterns are superior at strategy and long-range combat.” Case in point (Green Lantern: Rebirth):

There is another green lantern called alan scott but his powers are more based in magic and he is not a member of the corps.
There is a green lantern that has all of superman's powers too along with the green lantern powers but he is from another planet that was near superman planet.
His name is sodat yat.
You could look him up. Even superman and batman were green lanterns at one time.
Wonder woman was a star sapphire. LOOK UP star sapphire.

Here are some of the Black EGYPTIAN Gods and Goddesses of marvel comics.
MARVEL COMICS Horus
Horus is a fictional character appearing in the Marvel Comics universe, based loosely on the Horus of Egyptian mythology. He first appeared in Thor #240 (Oct 1975), and was adapted from mythology by Bill Mantlo, Roy Thomas, and Sal Buscema
Horus is a member of the Heliopolitan race of gods, and resides in Celestial Heliopolis. He is the son of Osiris and Isis. Horus is the Egyptian god of justice and retribution.
Horus was revealed to have been imprisoned with Osiris and Isis in a pyramid for three thousand years by Seth. He encountered Thor and Odin when the Pyramid appeared in New York. He participated in the Ceremony of Rebirth which reincarnated Odin as Atum-Re and briefly battled Thor. Horus aided Osiris, Isis, and Thor in defeating Seth. Horus, Osiris, and Isis regained their freedom and returned to Heliopolis.
Horus was subsequently imprisoned in Heliopolis by Seth, and then was aided by Thor and the Thing.
Horus then joined the other gods of light in combating the Demogorge. He was briefly consumed by the Demogorge, but regained his freedom.
Horus's powers were revealed to have been stolen by Seth, though he regained his powers upon Seth's defeat, and aided in saving the lives of Earth Force.
During the Secret Invasion, Atum mentions that Horus (his great-grandson) asked him to help fight the Skrull gods as part of the God Squad.
Horus has all the powers of a member of the race of superhumans known as the Egyptian gods of Heliopolis. He has superhuman strength, stamina, durability, agility, and reflexes, resistance to all Earthly diseases and some resistance to magic. Horus possesses the power to project solar energy, focused through his staff with a large blade at one end.
Other versions Horus appears as a member of a team of Avengers from a parallel reality where the Middle East is the dominant super power. He serves the ruler of this dimension, the tyrannical female Sphinx and kills in her name. As the god of the team, he serves the role traditionally held by Thor or Hercules. In this alternate timeline, Horus uses a large ankh as the focus for his solar energy.

Isis Isis is a member of the Heliopolitans in the Marvel Comics universe. The character, based on the Isis of Egyptian mythology, was created by Bill Mantlo, Roy Thomas, and Sal Buscema, and first appeared in Thor #240 (October 1975).
Within the context of the stories, Isis is a member of the Heliopolitan race of gods, and resides in Celestial Heliopolis. She is the wife of Osiris, sister of Seth, and mother of Horus. Her parents are Geb and Nut. Isis is the Egyptian goddess of fertility and domestication.

I almost Forgot that horus has a bird head but was listed has a black superhero from the black superhero list,of course the egyptians gods are african gods.
MAYBE he has a human looking head in other versions of marvel i have not seen yet.
Some/most of those egyptian gods were nubianized in nubia or maybe all.So for example thier is a egyptian isis and a nubian version of isis.
In the end egyptian gods have a nubian and sahara origin from what i read so far.

Speaking of that egyptian link dealing with animation.
There are some things they got wrong like the images of taharqa and shabaka.
They should have look more like piye/pianky if you look at most of the art images and what was drawn by thier enemies and other info we have they should have been darker and i disagree with them at the end talking about most egyptians left egypt and went to other areas of africa.
Most egyptians stayed in egypt, but other then that interesting video.
_______ Speaking of the black superheroes i did not know there was that many too until recently.
I am just learning more about the new ones.
John stewart should have been in that last movie for green lantern but they went for hal jordan instead.
It would have made more money if they had john stewart instead of hal. By that time john stewart became more famous because of the justice league cartoon.
I have not read the latest comics in awhile, but now i am catching up but the ones i am focus on the most is green lantern/green lantern corps comics and justice league, but i will try to read the other ones dealing with other black superheros more so later when i have more time and catch up on certain ones i have not read or read that much.

Shazam is a comic book character created by Bill Parker and C. C. Beck for Fawcett Comics. He is an ancient wizard (Whiz Comics #2 gives his age as 3,000 years) who gives young Billy Batson the power to transform into the superhero Captain Marvel. Because DC Comics has billed Captain Marvel's adventures under the name Shazam! since 1973, the superhero is often mistakenly referred to by his mentor's name. Because of this, in 2012 DC officially changed Captain Marvel's name to Shazam.
The New 52 Shazam (character) In this version, the Wizard is unnamed and is depicted as an Australian Aboriginal.
Powers and abilities: Shazam has many superhuman powers and abilities as the result of his magical skills as well as powers bestowed to him as the representative of the various gods whose powers the Wizard gives to certain representatives of those gods as their champion as in the cases of Black Adam and Batson.

I´ve opened this thread to talk about the MOS sequel that has been announced in San Diego Comic-Con. Also to publish news, pics and all related to the new Superman/Batman movie.

BURBANK, CA, July 20, 2013 – On the heels of the worldwide success of “Man of Steel,” director Zack Snyderis bringing together the two greatest Super Heroes of all time—Batman and Superman—for the first time on the big screen. The announcement was made today by Greg Silverman, President, Creative Development and Worldwide Production, and Sue Kroll, President, Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution,Warner Bros. Pictures.
The current hit, “Man of Steel,” has taken in more than $630 million at the worldwide box office to date, and climbing. Along with its star, Henry Cavill, the upcomingfilm brings back Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane. The new Batman has yet to be cast.
Snyder is co-writing the story with David S. Goyer, who will then pen the screenplay. Production is expected to begin in 2014, with an anticipated release date inSummer 2015.
Silverman stated, “Zack Snyder is an incredibly talented filmmaker, but beyond that, he’s a fan first and he utterly gets this genre. We could not think of anyone better suited to the task of bringing these iconic Super Heroes to the screen in his own way.” Kroll added, “We are thrilled to be back in business with Zack and his team on this next movie. The success of ‘Man of Steel’ is a wonderful testament to the love and support that both fans and new audiences, worldwide, have for these characters. We are very excited to see what Zack has in store for all of us.”
Diane Nelson, President, DC Entertainment, noted, “Superman and Batman together on the big screen is a dream come true for DC fans everywhere. All of us at DC Entertainment could not be more excited for Zack’s continuing vision for the DC Universe.”
Zack Snyder, who made a surprise appearance at Comic-Con today, breaking the news to audiences there, later said, “I’m so excited to begin working again with Henry Cavill in the world we created, and I can’t wait to expand the DC Universe in this next chapter. Let’s face it, it’s beyond mythological to have Superman and our new Batman facing off, since they are the greatest Super Heroes in the world.”
The new film brings back Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder as producers. This time, Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas are serving as executive producers, along with Benjamin Melniker and Michael E. Uslan.
Thomas offered, “Whilst our ‘Dark Knight’ trilogy is complete, we have every confidence that Zack’s fresh interpretation will take the character in a new and exciting direction. His vision for Superman opened the door to a whole new universe and we can’t wait to see what Zack does with these characters.”
The film is based on Superman characters created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster, and Batman characters created by Bob Kane, published by DC Entertainment
This looks like the first step to a justice league movie.

'The Flash' Movie Coming In 2016, Comic-Con Announcement Planned
"The Flash" is set to join the bevy of movies being announced at Comic-Con 2013.
The Hollywood Reporter broke news of the film in a report on the newly announced Zach Snyder project that will star both Batman and Superman. Little is known about the Flash movie, but it is already having an impact on some heavily anticipated projects: THR reports that the "Justice League" movie would follow both the Superman-Batman combo hit and the Flash film, which is slated for 2016. That likely puts those clamoring for "Justice League" facing a 2017 debut for superhero posse film.
More is developing at Comic-Con. HuffPost Entertainment Senior Writer Mike Ryan -- who wrote a piece suggesting a Flash movie precede "Justice League" last month -- is on the scene in San Diego, and the rest of our team is combing the net for the biggest rumors and freshest announcements.

Thanks for this thread Firewall! My favorite black superheros are Blue Marvel, Black Panther, Monica Rambeau(check her out!) and Storm.
Marvel is WAY better than DC when it comes to pushing their black/minority characters compared to DC who hardly does.
For example Marvel pushes Black Panther A LOT, he is the star of the New Avengers comic/story by Hickman. Heck Marvel is less bias, they even made a fictional African nation called Wakanda the RICHEST and most ADVANCED nation on Earth and its an African one. And they even have he most popular black female in comics...Storm. So yeah MArvel is better at pushing black/minority characters than DC even if MArvel has their flaws.
As for Ancient Egyptians...Its kinda confusing and it varies from comic to comics(And yes DC is owrse with it). I think some writers in MArvel do kinda know that AE WAS in Africa. For example Wakanda seems to have a strong ANcient Egyptians/Nubian connection. The Panther God that the people of Wakanda worship is actually the Egyptian God Basest and the Panther God IN Marvel comics even states he/she use to be worshiped by the Ancient Egyptians.
Also many of the architecture of Wakanda looks very similar to AE...Like Wakanda's city of the dead which Black Panther is currently king of. Posts: 1135 | From: Top secret | Registered: Jun 2012

Please do not direct me to any of mikes nonsense. Like I said before on other threads. I retired from this type of stuff. But if you wanna talk about black superheros you should join the discussions on the site Comicbookresources specifically the black panther appreciation threads.
Also you should check out the new MArvel book Mighty Avengers where they have a good cast of black and other minority characters. Black characters like Monica and Blue Marvel. Very good book...Like I said Marvel actually pushes their black/minority characters while DC barely does.

Oh inside to make clear when talking about firetstorm.
Sometimes this superhero is black, part black,or white.
Meaning the two humans could combine together to form firestorm and the two is a all black guy and all white guy or some other human.
Sometimes one is firestorm only and the other times they combined together.
You could type in google firestorm comics. It will explain more clearly what this is all about.

Michael B. Jordan To Play Johnny Storm In 'Fantastic Four'
Michael B. Jordan Human TorchActor Michael B. Jordan, perhaps best known for his roles as Wallace on The Wire and his critically lauded leading role in last year’s Fruitvale Station, is reported to be in talks to play the Human Torch in Fox’s upcoming Fantastic Four film. Further, it’s rumored that whoever is eventually cast to play Dr. Doom could possibly be a woman.
Discussion of Jordan’s role in the film has been spreading for months. The actor previously starred in the super-power based film Chronicle, a movie by Josh Trank, who’ll also be directing the Fantastic Four reboot. According to THR, Jordan is currently the only actor attached to the film. THR also reports that Kate Marra and Emily Rossum tested for the part of Sue Storm/Invisible Woman this week, while Miles Teller and Christian Cook auditioned to play Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic and Ben Grimm/The Thing, respectively.
But perhaps the most interesting note is about Doctor Doom. Though not confirmed, Doom is expected to be the main antagonist in the film. It’s said the studio wants a “big name” for the role, and has not ruled out switching genders for the role, which would mean casting a woman to play the Fantastic Four’s most famous villain, and indeed one of the recognizable villains in all of comics.
This report follows yesterday’s news that Candice Patton, a black woman, has been cast to play Iris West in the upcoming Flash television series on the CW. Along with Jordan playing the role of Johnny Storm, who is white in the comics, as well as the discussion that Dr. Doom could be female, this all potentially augurs a movement toward more color and gender blind casting in film and television roles based on super hero comics. While this is a movement that will undoubtedly have its share of very vocal detractors, it inarguably represents painfully overdue progress. It’s 2014. Johnny Storm can be black, and that is perfectly okay.
The Fantastic Four reboot is set to arrive in theaters March 6, 2015.
