Medical experiments on humans and animals are widely conducted under the assumption that both people and animals have no consciousness, thus their screams of pain are merely "biological reactions" that represent no actual suffering or "real" experience. "You are more than your physical brain and body," Adams insists. "In failing to recognize this simple truth, modern science has failed the most basic test of suitability for furthering the knowledge and wisdom of the human race."
