There are no ''true Arabs'' in modern day Egypt. Yes, there were settlements of Arabs brought by the Caliph and settled in parts of the Delta and Middle Egypt,but most have been absorbed by know. Modern Egyptians[except for many of the elite] are just mixed Arabized people. True Arabs are Yemani and Saudi Arabians. Even these groups have foreign admixture with various non-Arabic groups. Most of the so-called Bedouin that live around the Western Deser have some Berber ancestry from mixing with nomadic Berber tribes. I cannot speak for all Egyptians but I consider the Nubians to be just as Egyptian as everybody else. It's unfortunate that some Egyptians have racist images of Nubians in their head because of the bawwabs that came to Cairo and Alexandria. Places like Minya,Fayoum,Sohag..etc. The others are from the oasis areas or Cairo. One was by a beach near Alexandria. What would be useful is if a person could post pictures of Egyptians from each governate from the Delta down to Aswan. There are not many pictures of Egyptians online anyway and most come from tourists. IP: Logged

[b] Interesting to note that most movie stars in Egypt are typical Egyptians, with dark curly hair, due to the African Admixture. Most Egyptians are familiar with BLACKS who usually come from the Sudan and the rest of Africa, but they'are not Racist People, like some people from America and Europe. BLACKS ARE FRIENDS OF THE EGYPTIANS, even during the times of ANCIENT EGYPT. The racism in Egypt is not as severe as America but it exist in a more subtle way than others. Most notably you will notice that most of the adds in Cairo and Alexandria show only the lightest Egyptians they can find. Fair skin in Egypt is associated with prestige and has been that way since at least the Ottoman era. Sure there are poor fair skinned people from the Delta,but the mass of poor Egyptians are more ethnic and darker looking than the elite in Egypt. Northern Sudanese,Somalis,and Nubians don't get that bad of a treatment. The same cannot be said for Southern Sudanese and Western African refugees that come into Egypt. People taunt them and scream oooga booga at them. This could be because many of these immigrants are illegeal but I would not rule out racism either. This is reality and it occurs. Anwar Sadat is another example. Sadat's mother was a Sudanese women and his father a Delta Egyptians. Sadat spent his entire life trying to hide his Sudanese ancestry and told people he was just a ''dark Egyptian''. Who is to blame for this racism? Is it apart of the Arab culture or Western influence? Not to mention also that Sayyid Darwish,a famous Egyptian singer, and others used to preform blackface and make fun of Nubian people. IP: Logged

They have a specific phenotype based upon climatic adataptation,and not from mixing with ''caucasoids'' who I assume many infer came from Yemen. The only group that has such admixture in large percentages are the Amharan of Ethiopia. Somalis and Oromo are just about pure Cushic speaking Africans.
