Drowning Afronuts . . .
. . . cling desperately to E3b, which historical and genetic distance records indicate could not possibly be Black. . . . cling equally desperately to old descriptions of archaic traits as 'negroid', which they know proves nothing. . . . reference an unscientific, amateur travel website that has openly committed fraud. . . . mimic this website by using the adaptive sickle cell allele to cover their lack of real genetic evidence. . . . are as good as dead because after all of their struggling and flailing, they still have no answers.

You have some excellent points, but how can these afrocentrist start to gain some respect? Do you think that Afrocentrism without Ancient Egypt would still create the same national controversy and heated debates?

Here is a little honest opinion of Professor Clarence Walker, who is an African American. Walker describes Afrocentrism as a form of totalitarian groupthink, devoid of historical accuracy. "Afrocentrism is a mythology that is racist, reactionary, and essentially therapeutic," writes Walker. "It suggests that nothing important has happened in black history since the time of the pharaohs and thus trivializes the history of black Americans. Afrocentrism places an emphasis on Egypt that is, to put it bluntly, absurd. "I've always been interested in critical history," said Walker in an interview at his on-campus office. He is finding his views at odds with those who don't want anything critical said about blacks. Walker has been an American history professor at Davis for 16 years. He grew up in an integrated neighborhood in West Berkeley and graduated from Berkeley High School. He earned his Ph.D. from Cal in 1976. IP: Logged |

quote: They can't. The only thing to do is discard Afrocentrism entirely like professor Walker says, the same way academia discarded Aryanism at the beginning of the last century. Both ideologies have similar underpinnings and are therefore doomed to the same fate. Resistance is futile. The Afronuts are just putting off the inevitable. IP: Logged |
