I wish we all had a lesson in seeing such things in a person. I can usually see the truth in Western men... in their eyes and words... they can't hide it. (want me to check someone out for you, i will  ) I guess I am ignorant of Egyptian men, because "his" words were really great. Oh well... Since I got out of this so early, and lucky... Shannon again, thanks for the warning, and please know, I wish you all the best.Don't hate me for saying it, but I really feel sorry for that guy. What a waste, to hurt people for a Visa. Like I mentioned before... truth is better. I am trying to help another friend with a Visa, he's been totally honest about what he wants, and is a good friend to me, so my help is with open eyes. I don't know if it will work... but this BS M's throwing around sure doesn't seem to work, does it?! So, my heart goes to the women he's hurt, and my pity is for him. I will still go to Egypt one day, hopefully with someone to guide me. Not, though, a barricuda.

I have a question to everyone of you who posted messages regarding momean. Why the hell are you telling somany bad things about him. I just can't believe that a guy can be so bad. I dont know if we are sure or not that ure Moamen,but did u just came here just to defend a man that u dont know him at all,or maybe u do know him?!  I agree to Maryam,...its too strange that from ur first post and u ask for that! If you dont understand why these women are angry with this piece of **** ,then put a glasses and read what was written far before u come up to the forum!!! I don't know about this canadian girl. It is either Moamen or some girl who just met him this week. Anyone who knows Moamen will know that Moamen spells his name wrong. Most people spell it Moamen or Mo'men (Good restaurant in Egypt) but, I have only seen Moamen spell his name MOMEAN (with the E before the A). Canadiangirl, even after you edited your message about how you can spell so good (probably to correct your spelling mistakes), you still left a few spelling errors. Anyway, if this is really a Canadian girl, you are clueless and have no idea what is about to happen to you. If this is Moamen, you can kiss my white American A**...again!  IP: Logged |

Shannon, I'm sorry to hear about your Egyptian tragedy, but you seem to have been very naive since the very beginning. To begin with, online relationships are not real no matter how hard you try to defend this comment. It's hard enough trusting a person from your own country or state much less someone from another continent that you have never seen. Also, why did you not do a background check on him here in Egypt before you arrived? They have several good ones. All you had to do was ask on this forum and someone could have given you the appropriate numbers. You did'nt mention, but i'm assuming that you paid for this whole trip without his assistance. That should have been the first red flag in this whole mess. Also, him urging you to get married on your first visit, that was another red flag. I'm sure your family and friends must have warned you that this was not a good idea. This culture is completely different from your own and the only way to understand them and their intentions is to at least spend extended time in this part of the world and be exposed to their ways. Currently i am living in Alex (i've been here since the end of july and will be leaving next week) and am visiting my Egyptian boyfriend. However, i was in school here when i met him and he makes a reasonable wage (2,500LE) as a dealer in diamonds and manages a jewelry store. After i left back to Dallas we stayed in touch via phone and email. I told him that i would be back in August since this was the month i had off from my fashion job. Anyway, all my friends warned me that if he wanted to see me back in Egypt he would have to pay for my trip NO EXCUSES. Well, without me asking him, he offered to pay for my arabic schooling, housing and food money. On my first day, I lost my debit card and he gave me the money i was intending on spending for a whole month. Of course I will pay him back when I get back to america, but I think this was a good test to see how he really cared. It was then that i realised that he really was a descent man. I met his family last week and they liked me quite a bit and I am going to his brothers wedding this Sunday. Anyway, i hope you have better luck with the men here in America. I know american men have no feelings, but there are a few descent ones. What about European men? They are very stylish and suave and they don't have intentions of a visa, unless they are from Eastern Europe. Just, don't meet them on the internet again, or i'll have to go to Colorado and kick your bum!!!

Its a shame that guys like this Moamen are able to play their games but only because you let them. And something else is important: Books, Internet say only the half truth about every country. The best thing is to live abroad, get to know people and their culture. Also take your time when thinking about marrying someone. Never ever let a guy push you to do it. Marriage should be something very special in your life, preferably only once. Lastly you need to be aware if you are trying to date online and marrying someone totally different just like that - there is a huge possibility for failure, just like what happened here. Hello all. Frienda, I am not from Colorado. Anyway, thanks for your comments. I am over this man. I had a good time there in Egypt. I don't regret my trip there. I knew there was no way I could get him a visa to bring him here. I went there for the month of September last year. By November I met a great guy who lived just 3 miles down the road from me, we have been together ever since. I have not been posting on this website since I got back from Egypt. The only reason I am posting again is because my friend told me there was a woman looking for me on here. I am very happy in my life and I wish you the best of luck. Tigerlily, I did not ask anyone to feel sorry for me. Please do not insult my intelligence. I did know what an orfi marriage was before I went there. It's like going to Las Vegas and getting married. It doesn't mean anything unless you really want it to. This orfi marriage was just so I could walk down the street with him and stay in the same flat. I was asked for this paper when I was with him. So it came in handy at the pyramids, when the guards there wanted to see it. Anyway, I am going back to my real life and putting that part of my life behind me again. I wish you all the best of luck.
